BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Monday termed
tendering of the resignation of government ministers a part of old
blue print.
“The minister tendered their resignation. Now the people are waiting
to see the resignation of the prime minister,” he said while briefing
reporters at party headquarters hours after the cabinet members
tendered their resignation.
The BNP leader said peace and stability will return if the prime
minister takes the decision to resign taking the matter of formation
of non-party election-time government into consideration.
Referring to the comments of the home affairs minister that law
enforcers have been deployed around his house for his security, the
BNP leader said the designee ministers should think as to how they
would protect themselves from the public wrath.
“Now you think about yourself how you will escape the public wrath,”
he cautioned.
Rizvi Ahmed also criticised the prime minister that she wants peace,
not premiership saying that Sheikh Hasina neither wants democracy nor
peace rather she launched a dreadful crackdown on opposition leaders
and activists through killing and carrying out repressive acts.
He called upon the government to try to read public mind and
understand the national pulse.
The BNP leader said the people want to participate in the polls only
under a non-party election-time government.
On the selling of nomination papers by Awami League, he said it is
being done as part of holding the election of their blueprint through
a conspiracy.
“This is part of an international master plan but they ultimately
would not be able to endure the political storm– mass upsurge,” he
added.
Referring to the prime minister’s remarks that she is even ready to
resign, Rizvi said the people are waiting for that. “We think that the
prime minister should tender her resignation. It will be a positive
step to go ahead,” he added.
He called that the countrymen have been observing all-out hartal for
84 hours across the country.

UNB Adds: As all the cabinet ministers have submitted their resignation letters,
BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Monday said now they
should think how they would protect themselves from the public wrath.
“Now you think about yourself how you will escape the public wrath,”
he said while talking to reporters at the party’s Nayapaltan office in
the city.
Rizvi’s comment came after Home Minister Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir on
Sunday said that law enforcers have been deployed around her house for
his security.
The BNP leader also came down hard on the Prime Minister for her
remarks that she wants peace, not premiership.
“The fact is that the Prime Minister neither wants democracy nor
peace. The PM has launched a dreadful crackdown on opposition men
through killing and carrying out repressive acts. Is this the peace
she wants? She (PM) is actually talking about peace in grave!”
Pointing at the premier, Rizvi further said, “Try to read public mind
and understand the national pulse. People want to participate in the
polls only under a non-party government.”
