‘Riverine tourism has greater business prospects in BD’

Dhaka, Mar 24 – Speakers at a seminar on Saturday highlighted the prospects of riverine tourism in Bangladesh and urged the concerned government organisations to take effective measures to flourish the sector.They came up with the highlights at a seminar on ‘Riverine Tourism: Bangladesh Perspective’ held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city.
The programme was organised as part of the ongoing the fifteenth edition of an international tourism fair titled ‘US-Bangla Airlines Dhaka Travel Mart 2018’ that began at the hotel on Thursday.
Shajahan Khan MP, Minister for Shipping was the chief guest on the occasion while Dr Md Nasir Uddin, CEO of Bangladesh Tourism Board, attended the seminar as special guest.
Moderated by Kazi Wahidul Alam, editor of the Bangladesh Monitor, the keynote paper was presented at the seminar by renowned travel writer Raquib Siddiqui.
Toufiq Rahman, secretary of PATA, Bangladesh Chapter, Md Masud Hossain, advisor of TOAB, Md Taslim Amin Shovon, director of TOAB, Mohiuddin Helal, editor of Parjatan Bichitra took part in the discussion, among others. – UNB
