A local leader of Awami Shilpi Gosthi (ASG), associate body of
Bangladesh Awami League for artistes, was killed in a road accident on
the Dhaka-Sylhet (Old) Highway in Jagannathpur area of Moulvibazar on
Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam Nazmul, president of
Moulvibazar district unit of ASG, who hails from Gurarai village in
Moulvibazar sadar upazila.
Police and family sources said Nazrul with his private car came out of
the house around 10.00 am to take fuel for the vehicle.
On the way, the car veered off the Dhaka-Sylhet (Old) Highway at
Jagannathpur and slewed sideways into a roadside ditch, leaving Nazmul
seriously injured.
He was rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
