An alleged robber was injured in a gunfight between his cohorts and police in Palashpol area of the town early Saturday.The injured was identified as Mintu Sardar, 30, son of late Abdul Gaffar of the area. Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Golam Rahman said on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area around 4:00 am. Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the robbers hurled some crude bombs towards them. In retaliation, police opened fire, triggering a gunfight that left Mintu injured.
