Dhaka – An alleged robber was injured in a gunfight with police on Joypurhat-Santahar road in Kanthalbari Bridge area of Akkelpur upazila in Joypurhat early Monday.The injured robber was identified as Rashed, son of Ashraf Ali, a resident of Abadpur village in the upazila. He is accused in four robbery cases.Ashok Kumar Paul, superintendent of Joypurhat Police, said a gang of robbers attacked a CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying a patrol team of police in the area around 1.30am,UNB News Agency Reported.Later police opened fire at the gang which left Rashed bullet-injuried while other robbers managed to flee the scene.The injured was admitted at Joypurhat Adhunik Hospital.Police also recovered some locally-made arms from the spot.Two policemen were injured in the incident.
