‘Robber’ killed in reported Laxmipur ‘infighting’

Laxmipur, Sept 21 (UNB) – A suspected robber was killed in an alleged infighting between two gangs at Shakchar in Sadar upazila on early Saturday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known yet.

AKM Azizur Rahman Mia, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said a police tem went near a brick kiln in Shakchar after learning about a gunfight between two robber gangs.

“Police fired nine rounds of bullets,” he said.

When the robbers fled the scene, police found a man with fatal gunshot wound at the spot and took him to the Sadar Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

A light gun and three bullets were recovered, the OC said, adding that a case had been filed.
