An alleged robber gang killed an expatriate within hours after his return from abroad and looted valuables from his house at Bahura village in Nangalkot upazila early Thursday.The deceased was identified as Tazul Islam, 50, an expatriate of Oman and son of late Maksudur Rahman of the village.Locals said a gang of robbers stormed into the house of Tazul at about 1:45 am, hours after his being back home from Oman.The bandits took the house inmates hostage and looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables.As Tazul tried to resist them, the robbers locked into a scuffle with him and at one stage, they chopped him with sharp weapons indiscriminately and slit his throat, leaving him dead.On information, police visited the spot.Police also suspected that previous enmity could be the reason for the murder. -UNB, Comilla
