Robbers looted cash and valuables from 10 vehicles on the Banpara-Hatikumrul highway in Baraigram upazila early Wednesday.
Locals said a gang of armed robbers blocked the highway placing logs at Sutirpara around 4am and looted huge cash and valuables from the passengers of at least 8-10 coaches and trucks.The hoodlums vandalised windowpanes and doors of some vehicles upon finding those closed.On information, police rushed to the spot but the robbers by that time managed to flee the scene.Officer-in-charge of Banpara Highway Police Station Fuad Ruhani said the traffic returned to normalcy after robbers ran away from the spot.
