Robbers looted valuables from two houses after injuring two people at Garibpur village in Chitalmari upazila
early Saturday.The victims were identified as Suken Mandal, 40, son of Manmat Mandal of Khulishakhali village, and Snehalata Rani Mandal, 40, wife of Shototomo Mandal of the area.Quoting witnesses, Dilip Kumar Sarkar, officer-in-charge of
Chitalmari Police Station, said 7/8 armed robbers swooped on the house of Suken Mandal at the dead of night and looted valuables.Being resisted, the robbers fired on Suken, leaving him injured.Later the robbers stormed into the house of Snehalata Rani and looted valuables and gold ornaments from her house.Snehalata also received bullet injuries when she tried to resist the robbers.The robbers looted valuables including Tk 2 lakh in cash and 10 tolas of gold ornaments from the two houses and escaped with the booty safely, said police.
