Rajshahi, Nov 28 – Securing the slogan ‘Be aware for a better life’ the Consumer Youth-Rajshahi University (CY-RU) formed a new 33-member executive committee for the first time at RU campus on Tuesday evening. The inauguration ceremony was held around 5.30pm at the university central cafeteria of the university. Kazi Johorul Islam of Folklore department and Md Nazmul Alam of Islamic Studies department were selected as President and General Secretary respectively for the next year.
The other members are- vice president Atikul Islam, SohanurRahman and Abdul Malek , joint secretary -HabiburRahman and Khalid Hasan, treasure Tauhidur Noor and assistant treasurer Nitay Roy, publication secretary Mahmudur Rahman and assistant publication secretary Hamida Masuma Lia, office secretary MominSojib, assistant office secretary MikailHasan, research and cultural affairs secretary Tanjim Anjuman, training and planning affairs secretary ChandanKumaarSarkar, Law affairs secretary Faisal Ahmed and with other 18 executive members.
Abdul Malek, incumbent vice president of Consumer Youth said that it is a realistic plan to save our life from adulterated food. We are getting sick due to contaminated food. We are facing ‘Great War’ which is worse than an independence war. He also called upon to protest corrupted businessman and create consciousness against fraudulence. He also described how different item of foods are adulterated.
Imram Shuvro, joint secretary of the central committee and also secretary of IU Journalist Association said that we want to increase consciousness among the students and try to free them from taking contaminated food. Though the supreme punishment of giving adulterer is capital punishment, it is not stopped in a moment. So, we want to stop this heinous work through the social movement.
The Consumer Youth was established in 2014 with the motto of ‘Eradicate food adulteration across the nation’ in Dhaka University.
