The election for the teacher’s representative to different executive bodies of Rajshahi University (RU) will be held on March 24. The posts for election are Dean, syndicate, Academic Council and Planning & development category.
The election commissioner and also acting registrar of the university Prof. Entajul Haque disclosed the information yesterday.
According to the declaration the election commission office elections will be held against posts of 9 deans, 5 Syndicate members, 6 Academic council members and a finance committee member that make the executive body of the university.
There are two groups of teachers including the pro-Awami League and” and the BNP- backed teachers group are “Yellow panel” and “White panel”. They will compete from the two panels on the upcoming election said the administrative sources.
On March 12 two groups candidates have submitted their nomination papers while on March 17 election commission disclosed the name of eligible candidates where a total of 1,066 teachers will be cast votes in the polls. – RU Correspondent
