Hundreds of students of Rajshahi University agitated by blocking
Rajshahi-Dhaka Highway in front of Rajshahi University main gate
demanding withdrawal of quota system in government jobs from 10-30 am
to 11-00 am on Saturday.
Hundreds of vehicles remained stranded at both sides of the roads
during the blockade programme.
The road blockade programme was peaceful and after the programme,
students returned to the campus and took out a procession.
After the procession, the speakers at a wayside meeting said, they
were demanding cancellation of all sort of quotas in all competitive
examinations including in BCS examinations. They also demanded
evaluation of results of 34th BCS examinations. They declared to
continue their agitation programme till their demands were realised.
Meanwhile, Professor Dr. Tariqul Hasan, Proctor of RU called for
keeping the situation peaceful on the campus He also assured the
students to inform the government high ups about their demands.
Classes and examinations of the varsity were normal despite the
