Barisal – Two young men died as a truck ran over them at Mahilara on the Dhaka-Barisal highway in Gournadi upazila early Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Kala, 36, a resident of Mahilara village in the upazila, and Salauddin, 40, a resident of Dhamura
village in Wazirpur upazila,UNB News Agency Reported.
Mohammad Ejaj, officer-in-charge of Gournadi highway police camp,said the Faridpur-bound truck knocked down the duo in the area at about 5:30am after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the duo dead on the spot.Police seized the truck while its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.Police recovered the body and sent those to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.A case was filed in this connection.
