South Korean investors have said they want to invest in various prospective sectors in Bangladesh as they have a very good impression about the country.They came up with the investment offer at a meeting held between visiting trade and investment promotion delegation of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and Korea Federation of Small & Medium Business (Kbiz) in Seoul on Thursday, according to a massage received here on Friday.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan, DCCI president Md Sabur Khan, chairman of Kbiz Kim Ki Mun, general manager of KBiz Kim Tae Hwan, executive vice president Kihak Sung, chairman of Korea Agricultural Machinery Industry Cooperative Sang-Heon, Han, Ambassador of South Korea to Bangladesh Lee Yun-young, among others, attended the meeting.
DCCI president Sabur Khan said Korean investors are very keen about Bangladesh and they want to invest in Bangladesh.
He said, “Bangladesh has got a very good image in Korea, and we must utilise this in enhancing bilateral trade and investment. We should expedite the know-how of the business community of both the countries for mutual benefits.”
Sabur Khan said Bangladesh may follow how the Korean government is adopting their business policies, and stressed recognition of the businessmen as it motivates the upcoming and new entrepreneurs.
He assured the investors of all possible support from DCCI in expanding their businesses in Bangladesh.
Kbiz was established in 1962 under the objective to improve the South Korean economic status and support equal opportunities for Korean SMEs. Kbiz is working aggressively to enter overseas market for SMEs through various joint venture projects.
After the business meeting, the DCCI trade delegation met Korean NRB business community at Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul where Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan was present. – UNB
