Sabina Yasmin to get award in Kolkata with Aarti Mukherji

Popular singer Sabina Yasmin will be honoured in India. In a festival dedicated to Bangla Music the singer will receive the award . Alongside Indian singer Aarti Mukherji. Titled “Bangla Utshob” the festival will also have musical masters like Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, Bulbul Islam, Shama Rahman, Andrew Kishore, Chandana Mazumdar, Samina Chowdhury, Fahmida Nabi and Bappa Mazumder from Bangladesh. From India present would be Nachiketa, Jayati Chakraborty, Shubhamita Banerjee and more. The festival will run from January 4 to 6 next year at Nazrul Manch of Kolkata, India. It has been organised by Bengal Foundation and Kolkata’s Bandhan Bank.
Previously a similar arrangement was made but it included music from other languages apart from Bangla. It was held in 2013. But the upcoming festival will chiefly focus on Bangla Music with all its heritage, dedications and cross-genre, cross-regional diversity. In the three-day long festival Sharmila Bandyopadhyay will also be present with her choreography.
