Celebrated singer Samina Choudhury is all set for leaving the country for at least one and a half months on a tour to the USA and UK.Samina said, “I am going to the US to participate in a programme and later on, I will go to the UK.”
“I will go London with my children as they have been persisting in taking a trip for long”, she added.
The singer said I would leave Dhaka for the US on June 20 and expect to come back home on 1 July.
Samina has recently finished the work for her new album ‘Pushpa Bristi’ and she will release it on her arrival at home. The album will feature a total of 10 numbers.
Renowned singer Samina Chowdhury mostly sings modern and classical songs. She was born to singer Mahmudun Nabi and Rashida Chowdhury.
Her sister, Fahmida Nabi, and brother Panchamare are also musicians.
She developed as a playback contemporary singer under the guidance from her father in 1981. Her first album was ‘Phool Photey Phool Jhore’.
Samina could have carved a niche in the minds of millions by rendering some popular numbers like ‘Jonmo Theke Jolchhi Mago’, ‘Amar Duichokhe’, ‘Amar Buker Moddhyekhane’, ‘Phool Phote Phool Jhore’, ‘Amar Majhe Nei’, ‘Kobita Porar Prohor’, ‘Ami Anutapta’ and ‘Ekbar Jodi Keu’.
Besides, the singer has also attended the music related shows ‘Agun Jhora Sondhya’ in BTV and ‘Bipashar Atithi’ in Banglavision and CloseUp1 on ntv.
Samina won the National film award for best female playback singer in 2006.
She is married to Ezaz Khan Swapon. They have a daughter and a son.
