Saturday was coldest day of the season, more Chilly days ahead

Shivring cold has gripped the country which is experiencing a mild to moderate cold wave which brought the season’s coldest day in Ishwardi of Pabna on Saturday with the mercury dipping to 7.2 degrees Celsius.
Weathermen have said that the cold might be even more chilly in the next couple of days as the night temperarture might fall by another two degrees Celsius under the influence of rainfall which is likely.
An official at the Dhaka Met Office said Ishwardi recorded the country’s lowest temperature of 7.2 degree Celsius this season on Saturday.He also said the prevailing cold wave may continue for two more days, further dipping the temperature.
The wave of shivering cold is being felt all over the country. The lowest minimum temperature recorded in the past is 4 degrees Celsius. Dhaka which on Saturday had 13 degrees Celsius minimum temperature has the record of experiencing minimum 10 degrees Celsius.
Mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and the regions of Tangail, Kushtia, Jessore and Satkhira and it may continue.
Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country during night till morning.
Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country and day temperature may rise by 1-2 degree Celsius over the country.
Meanwhile, At least 100 children with diarrhoea and pneumonia caused due to severe cold were admitted to different local hospitals in the last few days. The cold wave is espcially difficult to bear for older people and children who do not have adequate winter garment to confort themselves.
