New Level-1 Students’ Orientation

Orientation of the newly admitted Semester-1 Level-1 students of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) was held on Monday 12 January in the university auditorium. Prof. Md. Shadat Ulla Vice-Chancellor of SAU attended the orientation function as the chief guest while Prof. Dr. Md. Shahidur Rashid Bhuiyan Pro-VC and Prof. Dr. Md. Hazrat Ali Treasurer were present as special guests. The program was presided over by Prof. Dr. Parimal Kanti Biswas. VC Prof. Md. Shadat Ulla and other speakers in their speeches welcomed the newly admitted students and advised them to be attentive to their studies and to abide by the university’s disciplinary rules and regulations.

AEIS Department welcomed new MS Students

Department of Agricultural Extension & Information System (AEIS) of SAU welcomed the newly admitted 1st Semester MS students by organizing an orientation program. The function was presided over by the Department Chairman Prof. Dr. Md. Sekender Ali and it was addressed by among others, Prof. Mohammad Hossain Bhuiyan, Prof. M Zahidul Haque and Prof. Md. Rafiquel Islam and Ph.D. student Afzal. Both teachers and students of the department expressed their firm conviction of accomplishing their goal through imparting and acquiring knowledge towards ensuring agricultural development of the country.Foreign Delegate visited AEIS Department

A foreign delegation under Joy Paulson TEEAL Project Director from Cornell University, USA recently visited the Agricultural Extension and Information Department of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU). Mr. Chandrashekhar Vithal M, Chief Librarian of Sathguru Management Consultants (P) Ltd. India was also in the delegation. They showed special interest in the Digital Archive of Agricultural Theses of Bangladesh at SAU established under a Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) of University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh Sub-project which was recently accomplished by Prof. Dr. Md. Sekender Ali of AEIS Department and also the Sub-project Manager (SPM). The meeting was attended among other teachers of the Department Prof. M Zahidul Haque, SPM of a current HEQEP Subproject working on incorporating plagiarism software to the Agricultural Theses Archive. The delegation expressed their willingness to undertaking joint projects with AEIS Department of SAU. – SAU press release
