School Cricket: Glory School & College emerge Dhaka Metro champions

Dhaka- Glory School & College emerged Dhaka Metro champions in the Prime Bank National School Cricket Tournament beating Kadamtola Purbo Bashabo School & College by 28 runs in a low scoring final at the Zahurul Haq Hall ground of Dhaka University on Wednesday.With the day’s feat, Glory School & College earned the right to play in the eight-team final round of the national school cricket meet along with seven other divisional champion teams in the first week of May.
Glory School & College batted first after winning the toss and were dismissed for 115 runs with opener Billal Hossain making 26 and Abu Taiyan 25 runs.
Rimon Mia of Kadamtola School grabbed four wickets for 32 runs.
Chasing a poor target of 116 runs, Kadamtola Purbo Bashabo School & College were bundled out cheaply for 87 runs with Milan Hossain scoring 15, Imamul Hawlader 14 and Rimon Mia 14 runs.
Earlier, Glory School & College moved to the final defeating Rayerbazar High School by 99 runs in the first semifinal while Kadamtala Purba Basabo School & College booked a seat for the final beating Faridabad High School by 82 runs in the 2nd semifinal at Zahurul Haq Hall.
Arnab Dev Nath bowled devastatingly to claim five wickets for 11 runs and was adjudged man of the final.
Vice President of meet’s sponsor Prime Bank Limited Noor Hossain Zakaria witnessed the day’s final as chief guest and later he distributed the prizes.UNB
