Dhaka – The final matches of both the boys and girls groups of the Polar Ice Cream 25th School Handball Tournament will be held on Tuesday at the Shaheed (Capt) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium here.Viqarunnisa Noon School & College will play Scholastica Uttara in the girls final at 2 while Sunnydale School will face Narinda Govt High School in the boys final at 3pm.
Chairman of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) Abdur Rahman will be the chief guest in the finals and later he will distribute the prizes.
COO of meet’s sponsor Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Ltd Shah Masud Imam will be a special guest at the function to be chaired by Federation President Nurul Fazal Bulbul.
The 3rd place deciding match of boys group will be held at 12 noon while that of the girls group at 1 pm.
Viqarunnisa Noon School & College smartly reached the final eliminating Sunnydale by 10-2 goals in the semifinal after leading the first half 6-1 on Monday.
Kashfia scored four, Ayesha and Sadia two each for the winners while Nosin and Noha netted one each for the losers.
In the other girls semifinal on the day, Scholastica eliminated Shaheed Anwar Girls College by 5-0 goals after leading the first half by 2-0 with Sadia contributing two goals for the winners.
In the boys group, Sunnydale School booked a seat for the final outplaying Residential Model School & College by 24-7 goals after dominating the first half by 17-5 in the first semifinal.
Sohel Kabir contributed seven goals, Irfan five for the winners while Tahsin and Mehedy scored two goals each for the losers.
In the day’s other semifinal, Narinda Govt High School beat Shaheed Police Smriti College by 23-14 goals after leading the first session 10-7.Parvez scored five for the winners while Mushfiquralso netted five for the losers. UNB
