Gazipur – A school girl was killed in a road accident on Shafipur-Phulbaria road in Kaliakair upazila of the district on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Nilufa Akter, a class V student of Jenik PL School and daughter of Abdul Latif of Gedari village in Sadar upazila of Gaibandha district.Police said Nilufa received injuries as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit her while she was crossing Shafipur-Fulbaria road in the morning. Later, she was whisked off to a local hospital where doctors declared her dead. Police arrested the auto-rickshaw driver after the incident. In another incident, an unidentified young man was crushed under the wheels of a speeding train on Dhaka-Chittagong rail track in Majhukhan area of Gazipur city in the morning. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to morgue for autopsy. (UNB)
