The Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies (IDMVS) of the University of Dhaka organised a national seminar on Food Security, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Sustainability at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the occasion of World Environment Day -2013.Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) of Dhaka University was present there as a chief guest while Bangladesh Open University Pro-VC Khandaker Mokaddem Hossain in the chair.
Snehal Sonaji, Country Director of Oxfam, Prof Mahbuba Nasrin, Director of the IDMVS, Ms Zakia Haque and Major Mahbub were present at the seminar, among others.
Nasreen Ahmad said these seminars will much effective to defeat with the disaster of the country. The recommendations of the seminar can be able to effective role to ensure the country’s climate and food safety.
Prof Dr SM Imamul Haque and Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Joint-secretary of Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, were presented article.
At the end of the seminar, a film ‘Osoni Songket’ directed by world-renowned film director Satyajit Roy was previewed at here.
