Bangladesh Shipakala Academy (BSA) announced the names of seven artistes to be honoured with ‘Shilpakala Padak-2016’ on July 20.The names are selected for the contribution to the development of Drama, Music, Dance, Folklore, photography, instrumental music and fine arts.
Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky announced and briefed about the programme in a press conference held at the Seminar Room of BSA on Tuesday where academy’s secretary Jahangir Hossain Chowdhury was present.President Abdul Hamid will present as chief guest in the programme at National Nattyashala auditorium of BSA on July 20 while Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will be present as special guest.
BSA DG Liaquat Ali will deliver inaugural speech while Cultural Affairs secretary Md. Ibraheem Hosein Khan will preside over the ceremony.The seven artistes are — Mohamamd Golam Mostofa Khan (Dance), Sirajuddin Khan Pathan (Folklore), Syed Jamil Ahmed (Drama), Pabitra Mohon Dey (Instrument), Kali Das Karmakar (Fine Arts), Mita Haque (Music), Golam Mostafa (Photography).The academy introduced the award in 2013 to honor the contributors to the local arts, culture and literature.
