Seven point demands of Oikya Front unacceptable: Tofail

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed today said the seven-point demands of the newly floated Jatiya Oikya Front are unacceptable as the alliance is engaged in conspiracies over the next general elections.

“The upcoming parliamentary polls will be held as per the constitution. People of the country will resist any ill attempt of the BNP over the national elections,” he told the inaugural function of the 14th International Trade Fair in Sylhet.

Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdur Rahman, businessmen and officials of local administration, among others, addressed the function. Tofail said, “Seven-point demands of Jatiya Oikyafront go against the constitution. So, it is not possible to accept their seven-point demands as per the constitution.”

He said the BNP had no confidence in the people as the party was involved in terrorism and destructive activities in the name of movement. That is why the BNP is banking on diplomats of different countries to come to power, he added.
