Seven robbers held in B’baria

Dhaka – Police arrested seven alleged robbers, including the gang leader, following an robbery attempt on the Titas River at Pakhimul in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria on Wednesday night, UNB newqs agency reported.The gang leader, identified as Manik, a resident of Rasulpur village of the upazila, was wanted in eight cases for robbery.
Rupak Kumar Saha, officer-in-charge of Sarail Police Station, said being tipped off, police conducted a drive in the area and arrested the seven robbers while they were taking preparation to commit a robbery around 10.30pm.
Police also seized one pipegun, two rounds of bullets, two cartridges, two machetes and four sharp weapons from their possession.
