Shakib sidelined from conditioning camp for injury 

Dhaka – Bangladesh cricket team all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan on Saturday could not join the national conditioning camp due to minor injury on his left ankle.Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physician taped up Shakib’s injured ankle and he will remain under observation for at least 48 hours to know the development of injury through a scan report.Coming out of his car, Tigers T20I skipper Shakib was limping to reach the practice ground of BCB Academy in Mirpur in the morning. When he was asked by a reporter about what had happened, he just smiled back.Shakib, who may not take part in the conditioning camp for 5 to 6 days, was fine after the practice session on Friday.After enjoying around a three-week Eid vacation, the Tigers formally returned to cricket on July 10 (Monday) and started their conditioning camp ahead of the Test series against Australia at home and for an away series in South Africa.The Tigers started their camp with fitness test under the fitness trainer Mario Villavarayan who will train them for the rest of this month before the head coach Chandika Hathurusingha return to Bangladesh at the end of July.Australians are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on August 18 to play two Tests against the Tigers in Dhaka and Chittagong. After the expected Test series against Australia, Bangladesh will tour to South Africa to play two Test matches, three ODIs and two T20Is in September-October.UNB news agency
