A mobile court in Damudya upazila on Monday sentenced a college
student to one year’s imprisonment for stalking a girl student.
The convict was identified as Abdus Salam, 20, son of Matin Kazi, a
resident of Dani Damudya village of the upazila.
Sources said Salam, a student of class-XII of Purba Madaripur College,
had long been disturbing the junior girl student of the college.
Around noon on the day, Salam physically harassed the girl in her classroom.
Later, teachers of the college informed local upazila nirbahi officer
(UNO) ATM Mahbubul Karim and the police.
The UNO set a mobile court and sentenced Salam to one year in jail.
