Dhaka- The home and away basis Sheikh Kamal Under-20 Football Tournament with participation of all the eight divisional teams of the country, organized by Bangladesh District & Divisional Football Association (BDDFA), is likely to be held in February 2019.Each of the divisional football teams will initially formed with 25 promising booters and selected players will be given a 45-day intensive training to get themselves prepared for the ensuing U-20 football tourney.
The first phase divisional round of the meet will begin in Chattogram Division from next month.BDDFA Secretary General and Managing Director Saif Powertec Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin disclosed these after the 2nd meeting of the newly formed Association held at Rupayan Centre in Mohakhali Monday afternoon.
“The district, divisional and club football are co-related with each other for the development of the game and it will bring new dimension in the country’s football,” said Tarafder Ruhul Amin.
The meeting, chaired by BDDFA Vice-president Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir in absence of its President and CCC Mayor AJM Nasiruddin, also decided to arrange a grand conference of the organizers of districts, divisions and football clubs in Dhaka on November 17 in the country’s tourist hub of Cox’s Bazar.
The meeting also expressed total satisfaction over the successful completion of football league in 40 districts under the sponsorship of Saif Powertec.The committee also advice the organizer to take initiative to complete the remaining match of the district league at the soonest.UNB
