Sherpur – Hosts Sherpur District Police team emerged champions in the Mymensingh Range T20 Cricket Tournament of Bangladesh Police beating Netrakona District Police team by eight wickets in the final at the local Police Lines ground on Tuesday.
Favoured by coin, Netrakona team batted first and scored 56 runs for the loss of three wickets in a curtailed six-over a-side match
In reply, Sherpur Police team reached their target making 60 runs featuring a hurricane batting by opening batsman Shohag Miah.
Shohag Miah scored an unconquered 36 runs in the day’s final and contributed 131 runs in the tournament with a half century was adjudged man of the match and man of the tournament.
DIG of Mymensingh Range Barrister M Harun-ur-Rashid was the chief guest in the day’s final and later he distributed the prizes.
Four district teams of Mymensingh Range –Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Netrakona and Sherpur– took part in the T20 format of the tournament. UNB
