Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, called a daylong hartal in the district for Wednesday protesting the killing of a Shibir leader in a clash with Chhatra League men in Chittagong.
Abdul Auwal Russel, president of city unit Shibir, announced the hartal at a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier on Sunday, Shibir activist Mamun Hossain was killed and over 15 people were injured in a series of clashes between activists of Shibir and Bangladesh Chhatra League at Chittagong University on Sunday.
