Shibir men hack BCL leaders in Sylhet

Islami Chhatra Shibir activists allegedly hacked two leaders of Sylhet Engineering
College unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League on Friday morning.
The victims were identified as Saurav Hasan Himel, SEC unit BCL general secretary, and
Nirmal Pal, organising secretary.
Both are third year students of Computer Science and Engineering Department.
Eyewitnesses said the Shibir activists attacked the BCL men around 9:30am when they
were on their way to the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) campus
to take an examination and hacked them with sharp weapons.
Informed, friends of Himel and Nirmal took them to Sylhet Osmani Medical College
Hospital.
BCL college unit president, Ariful Haque Liton, alleged that the attackers were armed
Shibir activists.
They were trying to spread panic to establish their supremacy, he added.
Shah Paran police station officer-in-charge Akhter Hossain said that they had visited
spot immediately after the incident and were trying to arrest the miscreants.
