Dhaka – Ferry services on the Shimulia-Kawrakandi route in the Padma river resumed after three and a half hours’ disruption caused by dense fog in Munshiganj on Wednesday morning.Shah Khaled Newaj, assistant general manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation’s (BIWTC) Shimulia Ghat office, said ferry services had been suspended on the route from 5:00am to 8:30am due to poor visibility caused by dense fog,UNB news agency reported.Ferries loaded with vehicles could not leave Shimulia and Kawrakandi ferry ghats while seven ferries remained motionless in the mid river due to the fog.The ferry service resumed around 8.30am as the fog started disappearing with the sunrise, Khaled added.
