Shirin releases new album, plans one for Baishakh

Shireen Jawad will release her third solo album titled Rangila on April 9. The UK based singer will present yet another folk fusion album targeting the Pahela Baishakh celebrations.Shireen got nationwide popularity soon after the release of her first album Panjabiwala in 2007. Her second album Matwali, released in 2009, was also a hit.
‘Rangila will feature nine folk songs composed by eight prominent fusion composers of the country, of which two are traditional and seven are absolutely new. The audience will experience different flavours in each of these songs,’ Shireen told New Age.
Habib Wahid, Bappa Majumdar, Fuad, Hridoy Khan, Rumel, Rumman, Rafa and Raihan have composed songs for the album.
Laser Vision, the production company of the album, has launched the music video of Changra chabiwala, a track from the album as part of the promotion. ‘It’s a funky song, which has been filmed in an interesting way. I enjoy it so much, I hope the viewers will love it.’
She believes her songs will bring some fresh air for the Pahela Baishakh celebrations. Traditional songs of different flavours including romantic, mellow and mystic types are in the album. ‘My personal favourite is a song called Khaza’, Shireen said.
‘I’m a perfectionist. Whenever I select a song, I try to deliver the sentiment incorporated in the lyrics through my rendition. That’s why it took me four years to complete my album Rangila’, she added.
Shireen hopes that people from all walks of life will enjoy the songs of the album. ‘I prefer songs with simple dictions so that everyone can catch the meaning. If I don’t understand any word I will definitely work on it to bring the real energy out in the song’, she said.
Shireen considers herself fortunate whenever she can make her fans happy through her music.
She will go back to England after the release of her album. Expressing her fascination about Bangladesh she said, ‘I miss my audience who give me so much love but I have to go back to my family. Hope I can come back soon with something new for them.’
