Silent procession in JU demanding steps against dengue

Jahangirnagar University, July 28 (UNB)- Jahangirnagar University students brought out a silent procession on the campus on Saturday, demanding steps for preventing dengue.

On Sunday morning, students gathered at the Central Shaheed Minar premises on the campus at 11am and brought out the procession which ended up with a sit-in program in front of the administrative building.

A first year student of the university died of dengue fever at Cox’s Bazar on Saturday after she returned home from the campus.

At the program, students, angered by the death of a fellow student, demanded necessary steps from the authority to prevent dengue. They urged to equip JU’s medical center with necessary medical instruments.

They ended their sit-in program after getting assurance of Vice Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam around 12pm.
