Singapore to train 1,150 teachers and officials

Singapore will provide training to 1,150 teachers and officials in the field of Bangladesh’s technical education in order to enhance their skills.Singapore’s Nanyang Polytechnic Institute will provide the training through 60 courses, ranging from one week to six weeks, in the next three years.

The Education Ministry signed an agreement with the Nanyang Polytechnic Institute on Tuesday in this regard.

In the presence of Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Additional Secretary to the ministry and Director General of the Directorate of Technical Education Ashok Kumar Biswas and Nanyang Polytechnic Institute Chief Executive Officer Foong Tze Foon signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

The Singaporean institute will also set up 10 modern laboratories in 10 polytechnic institutes in Bangladesh under the ‘Skills and Training Enhancement Project’ of the Directorate of Technical Education.
