Popular children’s television show Sisimpur is set to be broadcast on Duronto Television from Sunday.
The show will be aired thrice a day, on the 8am, 12pm, and 5:30pm time slots.
Executive Director of Sisimpur Mohammad Shah Alam confirmed the news at a press briefing . He further said Sisimpur will also be broadcast on Bangladesh Television and RTV.
Sisimpur began its journey in 2005, with the aim of making learning enjoyable for children. The 15th anniversary of the show will be on Pohela Boishakh, 2020, and a number of special events are planned for the year.
Addressing the press briefing, Shah Alam said: ‘”Sisimpur has already successfully completed 12 seasons. We are currently shooting the 13th and the 14th seasons of the show. The 12 seasons that have been aired include 700 episodes.
Sisimpur has reached people in remote areas as well as in cities. A survey conducted by BBC World Services in 2010 revealed that Sisimpur had reached the top spot among shows for children, and reached third position overall in terms of reach. Now the show is going to be aired on Duronto TV. I hope that the show’s popularity will continue to rise,” Alam added.
According to Executive Producer Monoar Shahdat Darpan, popular characters of the show Ikri, Halum, Shiku, and Tuktuki will be joined by a new character, Julia, in future seasons.
