Shilpakala welcomes Rainy Season with festive fervour

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy organised a musical soiree yesterday at its National Theatre Auditorium in Segunbagicha in the city welcoming the soothing Rainy Season. Titled ‘Barshamangal’, the evening programme started with instrumental music. Then group music and solo songs were performed by artistes of the academy.
In group renditions artistes presented Mon Mor Megher Songi or Mind of Mine a Companion of the Clouds, Esho He Shajal Shyam Ghana Deya or Come This Blissful Deep Flora, Amrita Megher Bari or House of Sweet Clouds, Aji Jhar Jhar Mukhar Badal Dine or On This Very Rain Drenched Day and Gahan Ghana Chhailo or Clad in Deep-Depth. Solo songs were presented by Mohona Das, Himadri Rai, Sohanur Rahman, Suchitra Sutradhar, Abida Rahman Setu, Hirak Sardar, Roksana Akhter Rupsa, Rafi Talukder. On the other hand Nabanita presented Tagore songs, Yasmin Mushtari presented Nazrul songs, Rafiqul Alam presented modern songs, Abu Bakar Siddin presented folk songs and Krishty Hefaz presented elocution eulogizing Rainy Season.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky spoke in the middle about the need for our generations to feel about the Six Seasons as we are deprived of their beauty amidst our city life.
