Dhaka Gallery launches with 26 contemporary artists

Dhaka Gallery, a fresh establishment of Delvistaa Foundation in Banani, Dhaka, is set for the inaugural ceremony of its first art exhibition titled ‘Prologue 01’ from tomorrow. The month-long exhibition shall showcase 48 works of 26 living contemporary artists of Bangladesh. The list of artists includes Abdul Mannan, Abdus Shakoor Shah, Abul Barq Alvi, Ahmed Shamsuddoha, Anisuzzaman Anis, Farida Zaman, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Jamal Ahmed, Kalidas Karmakar, Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Mahmudul Haque, Md. Eunus, Md. Muniruzzaman, Mohammad Iqbal, Monirul Islam, Murtaza Baseer, Mostafizul Haque, Mustapha Khalid Palash, Nisar Hossain, Rafiqun Nabi, Ranjit Das, Rokeya Sultana, Samarjit Roy Choudhury, Shahabuddin Ahmed, Sheikh Afzal Hossain and Shishir Bhattacharjee.
It is expected that Nasrul Hamid, State Minister of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources shall inaugurate the show as Chief Guest while Abul Khair, Chair, Bengal Foundation shall grace the evening as Guest of Honour.
To commemorate the first show of Dhaka Gallery, a book edited by Mustapha Khalid Palash will be published as it has been designed to feature the 26 participating artists of the exhibition with their synoptic biographies, portraits, critical write-ups by eminent art critics and the plates of the paintings to be displayed in the exhibition.
Despite many hindrances and unseen obstacles, Delvistaa Foundation claims to be launching ‘Dhaka Gallery’ through this group exhibition for the artists and to meet the craving demand of the discerning audiences who were looking for an art gallery in this part of the city.
