Local people caught six alleged robbers and handed over them to police
on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Kutumbapur area of Chandina upazila
of the district on Tuesday.
The arrested persons were identified as Kawser, 13, M Mohsin, 24, Riaz
Elias, 20, M Shapon, 21, Al-Amin, 21, and M Al-Amin, 22.
Golam Murshed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Chandina Police Station, said
the arrested persons had been committing robbery on the highway for
long.
Locals caught them red handed while looting a number of vehicles in
the morning and gave them a severe thrashing before handing over them
to police.
A robbery case was filed in this connection. -UNB, Comilla
