Skills Development Authority registers 12 training providers

Dhaka, Jan 27 – The National Skills Development Authority (NSDA), under the Bangladesh Prime Minister’s Office has given registrations to 12 more prominent training providers on Sunday.The registration certificates were handed over to the training providers in a ceremony held at the NSDA headquarters in the city.
Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Kaikaus attended the ceremony as chief guest and handed over certificates to the training provider organisations on that day.
The skills providers are Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (BITAC), Chattogram, Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Centre (BKTTC), Chattogram, UCEP Ambagan Chattogram, AK Khan UCEP Technical School, Chattogram, MC Technical School and College, Chattogram, Shamsun Nahar Haroon Technical Training Institute, Chattogram, MAIT Training Centre (Patenga) Chattogram, Gawsul Azam Mijbandari Technical Institute, (Fatichhaori) Chattogram, Chattogram Mohila Technical Training Centre, Pabna Technical Training Centre, Digital Computer Training Centre, (Shalgaria) Pabna and UCEP Jatrabari Technical School, Saddam Market, (Matuail) Jatrabari, Dhaka.
Earlier, NSDA provided registrations to Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Centre (BKTTC), Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (BITAC),
Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Mohila Technical Training Center and UCEP Mirpur Technical School.
Talking to newsmen, Executive Chairman (Secretary) of the NSDA Md Faruque Hossain said the government has formed the NSDA for expediting the country’s overall economic development through making all people skilled. Every skills provider institute will come under a platform and they will provide same certificate to their trainees, he said.
Faruque Hossain said NSDA will help to develop the skills of labour forces through imparting technical and vocational professional training considering the demand in the local and international labour markets.
NSDA will work to raise the standards of institutes engaged in enhancing skills and also for introducing equity-based skills evaluation procedure for appropriately making assessment of skills, he said.
The authority will empower all individuals to access decent employment and ensure Bangladesh’s competitiveness in the global market through improved skills, knowledge and qualifications that are recognized for quality across the globe, Faruque Hossain added. – Staff Reporter
