Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an alleged smuggler
along with a pistol, several rounds of bullet and other goods in
Narayanjot border area of Tentulia upazila early Tuesday.
The arrested was identified as Ranju Mia, son of Tajul Islam of
Kankata village of the upazila.
BGB sources said a patrol team of BGB at Narayanjot border point
obstructed some smugglers and chased them while they were passing
through sub-pillar no 4 riding two motorcycles on Monday late night.
The smugglers tried to run away keeping their motorcycles behind.
Later, the BGB team arrested a smuggler named Ranju after a hot chase
but the rest managed to flee the scene.
The team also recovered one Indian made pistol, four rounds of bullet,
one sword and some Indian mobile SIM cards from his possession.
The arrested was handed over to Tentulia Police Station.
