Rajshahi, Jan 18 – State-owned Bangladesh Sonali Bank Limited on Monday inaugurated its 1227th branch in Rajshahi University campus. The inauguration program started with hoisting the national flag of Bangladesh.
The chief guest of the program university vice-chancellor Professor M Abdus Sobhan said, Rajshahi University is the 2nd largest and 2nd oldest university of this country. There are around 38000 students, 1200 teachers and 6000 officials in this university. That’s why we needed another bank. Sonali Bank started its journey in this campus for providing services as a consequence of Rajshahi University Teacher Association’s efforts.
RU pro-vice-chancellors professor Ananda Kumar Saha and professor Choudhury M. Zakaria, treasurer professor A K M Mostafizur Rahman Al-Arif, registrar professor Md Abdus Salam, Sonali Bank Limited deputy Managing Director Md Afzal Karim, Sonali Bank deputy general manager Rajshahi Mir Hasan Md Zahid, among others, were present on the inauguration programme. – RU Correspondent
