SSC exams begin amid tight security in Rajshahi

The SSC and equivalent examinations began today in Rajshahi and its adjacent districts amid tight security as the indefinite blockade called by the BNP-led 20-party alliance continues.

A large number of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed in each centres to ensure security of the examinees, Board sources said.Today, the SSC examinees sat for the Bengali 1st paper, while Dakhil students sat for Quran Mazid and Tazbid papers and the students of the technical education board Bengali-2 examinations in two shifts.A total of 1,28,199 students including 61,282 girls are appearing at the SSC examinations under Rajshahi Education Board this year.The students are taking part in 214 examinations centres from 2591 schools in eight districts under this education board this time.Controller of Examinations Prof Shamsul Kalam Azad said the board authorities have taken all-out measures to ensure peaceful environment and prevent cheating at the examination centres.To that end, a total of 116 vigilance teams and six mobile teams will work together for ensuring a copying-free atmosphere in the examination.He told BSS that the today’s examination was held in peaceful and copying- free environment.Meanwhile, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has imposed ban on all sorts of procession, meetings, rallies, agitations and carrying of explosives and firearms on 200 yards surroundings of all the city area exam centers.
