Stock prices mark rise

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed upward trends in the early hours of trading on Monday.DSEX, the benchmark index of DSE, rose over 38.80 points or 0.67percent to stand at 5,813.10 at 12:38 pm.The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went up by 4.33 points or 0.33 percent to stand at 1, 318.41 points.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also advanced 9.50 points or 0.45 percent to stand at 2,117.78 points.Trade deals stood at 97,707 with transaction at over Tk 6,870.22 million on the DSE.Of the issues traded till then, 192 advanced, 90 declined and 42 remained unchanged.Keya Cosmetics Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 505.36 million changing hands till then followed by BEXIMCO, CONFEDCEM, PRIMEBANK and SAIFPOWER.The port city bourse also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX–advancing 75.85 points to stand at 10,895.05 points, also at 12:42 pm.Of the issues traded till then, 144 gained, 79 declined and 25 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 434.45 million.
