Stock record uptrend on Tuesday

Stocks saw upward trend on Tuesday with the major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock exchanges finishing upward amid higher transactions of some large-cap securities.

The rising major sectors were tannery industries, textile and IT sector. A total of 223 securities of the large-cap group moved up due to higher activities.

The broader DSEX index of the DSE finished the session with 17.90 points up at 6,031.74. The Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 6.90 points up at 1325.69. But the blue-chip DS30 closed the day with 7.24 points down at 2,181.87.

The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 615.68 crore from Monday’s Taka 502.96 crore and the daily trade rose to 16.51 crore shares from 14.08 crore shares of the previous session.

At DSE, out of the day’s 331 securities, prices of 223 securities closed higher against 84 losing issues.

The major gaining issues were Fortune Shoes, Anlima Yarn, HR Textile, Aamra Net and DSHGARME. The major losing companies were Padma Life Insurance, Jute Spinners, Rupali Bank, KPPL and BRAC Bank.

Ifad Autos topped the turnover list followed by Uttara Bank, Aamra Net, BRAC Bank and Square Pharma. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 52.15 points up at 18,720.94.

At CSE, 234 issues were traded. Of those, 157 closed higher and 65 closed lower when 1.53 crore shares worth Taka 40.60 crore changed hands.
