Stocks close for weekend on positive note

Both the bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – witnessed positive trend on Thursday, the last trading session of the week.

The benchmark index of the DSE advanced 4.08 points, while the Selective Category Index of the port city bourse rose 4.34 points.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 4.08 points or 0.07 percent to stand at 5,794.87 at 12:50 pm.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 4.61 points or 0.35 percent to stand at 1,321.31 points.

The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also advanced 5.29 points or 0.25 percent to stand at 2,121.61 points.

Trade deals stood at 68,470 with transaction at over Tk 4,705.51 million on the DSE.

Of the issues traded till then, 121 advanced, 138 declined and 63 issues remained unchanged.

Keya Cosmetics Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 399.42 million changing hands till then, followed by GP, GENNEXT, UPDCL, DAFODILCOM and IFADAUTOS.

The port city bourse also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX–advancing 4.34 points to stand at 10,856.07 points, also at 12:51 pm.

Of the issues traded till then, 80 gained, 98 declined and 31 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 233.75 million.
