Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh (HIB) in an open letter on Saturday called upon the people to come forward to defend the country,
nation and faith.
He made the call just a day before the opposition’s planned March to Dhaka for Democracy programme on Sunday.
The Hefazat ameer urged the government and the opposition to take an effective measure to resolve the political stalemate as soon as
possible.
He said time is running out fast and government should stop what he termed the farcical election by postponing the poll schedule.
The HIB leader called for summoning Parliament into session to amend the constitution and arrange for an inclusive election.
“If you fail to do so, the people of the country will not remain idle at their homes neither the HIB; rather they will take to the streets
with masses of people,” he added.
The HIB ameer accused the ruling Awami League government of being responsible for the severe situation created by the unresolved
political impasse in the country.
He said, the situation has been created following the unilateral amendment to the constitution by scraping the caretaker government
system.
He said the country is on the brink of ruination due to stubbornness and attitude of vengeance of the politicians; on the other hand the
conspiracy of anti-Islamic forces in going on to devoid the country of Islam.
“There is no room for ulema to sit idle at home at this critical juncture of the nation. Under this circumstance, the patriotic and
faithful people of the country should come forward to save the nation,” he said.
He called upon all people including ulema to play their respective role to help resolve the present situation to save the faith and the
