Students’ council election being held in Gaibandha

The election of the students’ councils (SCs) has been completed at most of the primary schools in all the seven upazilas of the district amid much enthusiasm of voters and their active participation in it.
The objective of SCs is to help the students flourish their leadership from childhood and inspire and motivate them to contribute to promote their schools through democratic practices.District Primary Education Officer AKM Amirul Islam said the students’ council is the voice of the students and it is formed through an electoral process to make them aware about their responsibility.The students from class three to class five exercised their rights to
elect seven representatives at the beginning of each year to speak on their benefit at students’ council meetings, he also said.Till February 28, the election to the SCs was held at nearly 1000 schools out of the total 1435, office sources said.During the election, Deputy Commissioner (DC) M.
