United Airways, country’s first-ever public limited company in the aviation sector, stepped in six years of its service on Wednesday which operated 38,000 flights and carried 14 lakh passengers and 2,800 tonnes of cargo to various destinations.The airliner, which started its journey on July 10, 2007 with its maiden flight from Dhaka to Sylhet, has created over 1000 jobs, said a media note.
Since its inception, United received positive market response and presently holds a major connectivity of the domestic routes, few regional and international routes, it said.
On this occasion, thanking all the stakeholders, Chairman and Managing Director of United Airways Capt Tasbirul Ahmed Choudhury said, “We shall make all endeavours not only to retain our present market share but to expand our operation in both domestic and international sectors. We are pledge bound to satisfy our passengers and we hope will be able to do it Inshallah.”
In a span of just six years of operation, United Airways has established its brand reputation for its maintenance of schedule, service and safety, he said.
In the international sectors, it operates from Dhaka to Jeddah, Dubai, Muscat, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Kathmandu and Kolkata and also from Chittagong to Muscat and Kolkata. In the domestic sectors, United Airways is holding major market share.
Presently, it provides connectivity to all the domestic airports with the capital by giving regular flights. – UNB
