‘Sudden rise, fall in Teesta flow poor quality drama’

Addressing a discussion meeting at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday termed the sudden rise and the fall in Teesta water flow as a poor quality drama.
“It is nothing but a joke that the water flow on Teesta river has suddenly been increased when we were proceeding a long march towards Teesta Barrage but fell while we were returning back,” he said.The meeting organised by Association of Engineers Bangladesh (AEB) was held with Engineer ANH Akhter Hossain, acting president of the organisation, in the chair.
Fakhrul regretted that the people have forgotten the scandals of Hallmark Group, Destiny and share market. He expressed his surprise at the silence of those who played important roles during language movement in 1952, mass upsurge n 1969 and liberation war in 1971 that how they could tolerate such corruptions.
He said the country and its energy is moving away to somebody else and people have to look in into the matter first.
The BNP leader reminded the information minister that whether they forgot their remarks that they made against Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He also expressed his concern over recovery of a body of abducted businessman from Uttara and said none is safe in the country.
Juba Dal president Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and Engr Mohsin Ali, among others, also addressed the meeting. Staff Reporter
